The RSG1 Foundation is supporting a “human clinical trial” to find ways to help patients with malignant brain tumors.
We recently shipped a batch of medical supplies to the Barrow Neurological Institute and Research Center in Phoenix, AZ for 40 patients with malignant brain tumors who are participating in a clinical trial. In total, the foundation is contributing $40,000 of medical supplies toward the study.
The clinical trial is studying the Ketogenic Diet as adjuvant therapy with chemotherapy and radiation. This is the first human clinical trial of this kind to be approved for malignant brain tumor patients.
The trial at the institute and center are being conducted by Adrienne C. Scheck, PhD.
Alternative therapies give patients with malignant brain tumors, cancer and other neurological disorders hope for prolonging and enhancing quality of the life.
The funds for this trial were raised by the foundation through special events such as the Valentine’s Race in North Park in Pittsburgh.

The mission of the RSG1 Foundation is to fund research, awareness, and education of glucose transporters and glucose metabolism, which affect the treatment of brain tumors, cancer, Alzheimer's, glucose transporter type 1 deficiency syndrome, epilepsy, ALS, heart disease, and diabetes. We are interested in funding the advancement of novel treatment and therapy approaches as well as investing in progressive alternatives that help save lives. The RSG1 Foundation will continue to strive to develop treatments to repair the nervous system in order to restore function and quality of life.
